HAMPSTEAD boutique Linea has become the latest victim of the curse of scooter raiders.

The trendy Heath Street store was targeted late on Sunday evening by a gang on mopeds. But they left empty-handed after only managing to break the window.

Owner Moreno Ferraro said: "We stopped them but things like this are very scary. We don't want this to happen in Hampstead."

Unlike some boutiques which have fallen victim to the raids over the past year, Mr Ferraro has vowed not to stop selling expensive gear.

"If I stopped that, I would have to stop everything," he said.

Other Hampstead shops to have fallen victim to the motorised smash-and-grab gang include Jessops photographic store, Jigsaw, Reiss, Keats pharmacy and opticians at Optique 20/20, David Clulow and Arthur Morrice.

So far, police have been unable to catch the gang.
