Santry should have stayed to face Paxman inquisition

IN a funny sort of way it would have been better if Councillors Meehan and Santry had not resigned but rather had been forced to stay in post in order to defend the previously stated position that all was well at Haringey to the public and on the record

IN a funny sort of way it would have been better if Councillors Meehan and Santry had not resigned but rather had been forced to stay in post in order to defend the previously stated position that all was well at Haringey to the public and on the record to the media.

Cllr Santry being grilled for quarter of an hour by Jeremy Paxman would have very illuminating and could have revealed a far more accurate position about the culture of the council in terms of thought processes, management decision making, etc, than is likely to emerge from the lengthy consideration of cleverly-worded written evidence submitted to a formal inquiry .
