A sanctuary has been set up in honour of a Highgate teenager who died last year after a battle with cancer.
Friends of Alexandra Wylie, who died aged 17 from a rare form of cancer while in the sixth form at Channing School, gathered at her home in Gladsmuir Road to launch the new project, which will offer massages, manicures and pedicures.
Some of the proceeds will help fund the Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation, a charity which in partnership with Kids Company funds activities to help under privileged children achieve their dreams.
Allie’s mother Lindsey Wylie, said: “We started transforming the space after Alexandra died. This was going to be where she lived when she came back from university.
“It was important to us to be able to transform the flat into something that pays tribute to her memory.”
Anastasia Vinnikova 18, one of Allie’s friends, said: “I can’t believe a year has gone by since we lost Alexandra, but my most overwhelming emotion is how happy I am that so many people pulled together and showed how much they love and miss her.”
