ONE of the most important spots for tourists arriving in Camden will be completely revamped under plans released by Camden Council and Transport for London on Wednesday.
Britannia Junction - the spot immediately outside Camden Town tube station - is to be redeveloped creating what the council claim will be a much better welcome to the iconic market area.
Under the plan railings and other street furniture will be removed and crossings made safer for those going to and from the tube station, and cyclists.
Environment boss, Councillor Sue Vincent, said: “These proposals will make a real difference to the area, making it more vibrant, more attractive and safer for residents and visitors.”
The scheme is part of the Mayor of London’s Better Streets initiative and jointly funded by Transport for London, Camden Council and traders support group Camden Town Unlimited.
