An up-and-coming piano star is to give a concert performance to raise money for two of Highgate Village’s best-loved landmarks.
Italian concert pianist Pietro Gatto, 28, of Highgate, will perform classical pieces by Beethoven, Bach, Schumann, and Chopin at a joint fundraising recital on Tuesday for historic arts and education centre Lauderdale House off Highgate Hill, and the Friends of Waterlow Park, the organisation which runs the park.
Mr Gatto, who is studying at the Royal College of Music, said: “I wanted to give something back to the community before I leave, and what better than to hold a concert to say ‘thank you’ to the people of Highgate who have made me so welcome.” The concert will be held at Highgate School’s Dyne House in Southwood Lane at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 and available from Lauderdale House.
