Comedian Ricky Gervais wasn't having a laugh earlier today - he was on his way to cast a vote at his local polling station in the Hampstead & Kilburn constituency.
He was among the first of dozens of celebrities to cast a vote. Unlike many voters across the country who queued in vain to vote as the 10pm cut-off point loomed, he arrived in plenty of time to make sure his vote counted in a constituency where the fight between Labour's Glenda Jackson, Conservative Chris Philp and Liberal Democrat Ed Fordham is so close that a recount is being predicted.
