Relaunched Spare Rib magazine changes name again to Feminist Times

The Kentish Town editor reviving the feminist magazine Spare Rib has renamed the glossy for the second time after lawyers advised her not to use the title Hip Bone.
Last week, the Ham&High exclusively revealed that the magazine would change its name to Hip Bone after the title came top of an online poll to choose a new brand for the glossy.
Despite announcing the name last Thursday, lawyers advised editor Charlotte Raven, of Barthlomew Villas, not to use it. She has since revealed, at a renaming party on Sunday, that the magazine will be called Feminist Times – the second choice in the online vote.
The rebranding is the third attempt to change the title of the magazine from Spare Rib after Ms Raven faced a legal battle with its original founders over the use of the 1970s name.
Paid-up members of the magazine and the public submitted name suggestions online.
More than 500 potential titles were whittled down to five choices for people to vote on. But when members complained they didn’t like any of the choices, another five options were added.
