Gospel Oak restaurant Ravel’s Bistro became a film set for a day as anti-Brexit campaigners including former government spin doctor Alastair Campbell and his daughter Grace filmed a sketch satirising Brexit and calling for a second Brexit referendum there.
The sketch, written by writer, comedian and activist Grace, 24, stars St John’s Wood actor Richard Wilson, who orders a “Brexit special” only for the restaurant kitchen to fail to provide his meal.
The sketch culminates in Wilson, 82, channelling his famous Victor Meldrew character to revive his catchphrase: “I don’t believe it!”
Restaurant owner Katarina Szajna, said she was thrilled to see Ravel’s play a part.
She said: “I know Alastair because he lives nearby and he comes in regularly so when he and Grace popped in and asked if they could film here I had no hesitation.”
