A landlord is launching a record-breaking, fundraising bid to dance in a Leicester Square nightclub for six days.

Steve Stevens, of the Eagle Pub, Clifton Road, Maida Vale, will try to dance for 150 hours, taking breaks of only five minutes each hour.

He said: “I will try to spread my energy as much as I can, but to get the record I have to keep going in time to the music.

“I’ve got some friends coming along to do the DJ-ing and every time I try to take a little rest, they will put another tune on that gets me going.”

He will plug in his iPod to dance through the night, and snack on peanut butter on toast and porridge. He hopes to raise 10,000 for St James’s Hospice in Leeds and the Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, in memory of friends who have died.
