Tottenham, without a win after two games, head south on Sunday to Premier League leaders Chelsea at the Bridge.

In contrast, the Blues have been quick to show their intentions under new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari who knows that anything less than title glory this campaign is unlikely to satisfy the fans or the Chelsea board.

And Scolari, the former Brazil coach who led his team to World Cup success over Germany in Korea in 2002, is undoubtedly the man to do it.

Chelsea, under Jose Mourinho, landed the Premier Division title for the first time in 50 years when they swept all before them in 2004-2005 and then showed that was no fluke when they retained the title the following season.

But expectations are high in SW6. Despite adding a brace of League Cups and the FA Cup to the titles, ex-boss Mourinho was shown the door as was his successor Avram Grant. Last season, under Grant, Chelsea finished second in three competitions.

And Scolari has wasted no time in strengthening his enviable squad with Jose Bosingwa (FC Porto £16.2m) and Deco (Barcelona £8m).

Deco has made an instant impact when he scored Chelsea's fourth goal in the 4-0 demolition of Portsmouth and then followed up with the only goal in the 1-0 win over Wigan last week. Bosingwa, too, has quickly adapted to life in the Premier with solid displays against Pompey and Wigan.
