The Liberal Democrats have announced their candidate for the Mayor of London.
Caroline Pidgeon, who is a member of the London Assembly, said that if elected she would strive for a London that served the many and not the few.
She said: “London is a great city, but the huge potential it offers is not available to everyone.”
Her campaign will focus on key issues such as providing housing to meet demand, along with tackling of high rents.
Flexible and affordable childcare, air pollution and transport fares are other areas that her campaign will concentrate on.
“It is a privilege to be selected as the Liberal Democrat Mayoral candidate and to head up our London election campaign for the Mayor and London Assembly,” she said.
She will join Labour candidate Sadiq Khan and Green Party candidate Sian Berry, a Highgate councillor, in the mayoral election on May 5, 2016.
Other parties are yet to select their candidate.
