POLICE in Highgate have launched a crackdown on rogue scooter riders who have been causing distress to residents.
A gang of youths have been tearing around the Chester Road area pulling tricks and revving their engines, ruining the peace and quiet.
In recent weeks, the Safer Neighbourhoods Team have seized two scooters and this week they issued warnings to other riders that they would lose their bikes if they carried on causing distress.
PC Mick Hill said: "These youths were basically going around riding recklessly with loud exhaust pipes causing residents alarm and distress.
