Detectives have renewed an appeal to trace the family of a man left fighting for his life after collapsing outside a hospital.
The man was found on Boxing Day outside University College London Hospital and placed in an induced coma after having suffered a heart attack.
According to police he remains in a life-threatening condition though he is now stable.
He was not carrying any identification when found on the street outside the Euston Road hospital. Detectives checked his finger-prints and carried out DNA tests, but the man – who officers believe may be homeless – failed to appear on police records.
Hospital liaison officer Pc Andrew Harris said: “There is nothing to suggest anything untoward. We need to get in touch with his family so they know where he is. Because of his serious condition we need to identify him as soon as possible.”
So far police have found out the man visited food banks, used a swimming pool and often played the lottery.
“There may be a newsagent or a local swimming baths or food bank who might recognise him,” Pc Harris added.
When he ws found, the man – who is of light skinned black or Asian origin – was wearing a blue, hooded jumper.
Anyone who can help identify him should call 101.
