Despite changeable weather, locals enjoyed performances by North Bridge House School choir, the London Metropolitan brass band, and a dance workshop by Swing Patrol.

Musical duo The Luck Band also performed a series of songs for visitors.

The Children’s Art Award was judged by Tulip Siddiq, who is expecting her second child in the next few months, and Isabel Langtry from Hampstead School of Art.

First prize went to Heathside Pre-prep school, while 9-year-old Bluebell Brooks and 7-year-old Miriam Randall who are members of Hampstead Community Centre Art Club received the runners-up award.

There was also a chance for children and adults alike to visit Santa in his grotto, and meet some of his reindeer outside. All children who met Father Christmas got a free present.

Chief executive of Hampstead Village Business Improvement District (BID), the group who organises the fair, Caroline Goldsack said: “We’re extremely pleased that so many people came along on Sunday to enjoy our Christmas Fair and explore Hampstead Village.

“The event was very well-received, with many commenting on its warm and appropriately characterful look and feel. Our thanks to all who contributed to the Fair’s success, including local businesses, schools, performers, Camden Council and the Police.”
