A primary school hosted its annual winter fair to raise money for a kitchen garden. Children at Beckford Primary in Dornfell Street, West Hampstead, dressed as festive figures to enjoy three floors of activities, from T-shirt making to games of bingo.
The fair was organised by the Parents Staff Association to help the school raise £15,000 for a kitchen garden where children can grow their own produce.
Rachel Zoldan, chairwoman of the association, said: “Most of our families live in flats in West Hampstead, so they don’t have access to a garden. To have that at school would be a chance for the children to get their hands into the soil and understand where food comes from.”
