FRESH from his appearance in front of 30,000 at the V Festival earlier this month, Pete Doherty went low profile playing to just dozens at a Kentish Town pub on Tuesday.

The notorious wild child and former Libertine played to a hardcore group of fans in the intimate setting of the basement at the Torriano pub in Torriano Avenue.

Mr Doherty, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs just hours after his performance at the V Festival, appeared relatively sober by his standards, although fans report he had been drinking heavily at the venue since mid-afternoon.

He played a number of songs on his own and also introduced a number of support acts, mumbling at one stage a tribute to "talent and melody and things".
