A pensioner who was left unable to walk properly following a failure in his care has now been offered sheltered accommodation by Camden Council.
Last week the Ham&High called 999 when our reporter found Ken Macleod, 70, with toes gone black and bandages soaked in pus after his leg ulcers became infected with his own faeces.
Mr Macleod said he had been waiting for council care workers and district nurses to help him for months.
Having received treatment at University College Hospital, Mr Macleod said: “The care here is fantastic. And someone from the council has finally come to see me, so I hope they can now help.”
The council insists it made repeated attempts to visit Mr Macleod at his home in Mornington Crescent and that he “refused care”. He describes this as “completely untrue”.
