Myleene Klass was confronted in the playground of her daughter’s school today by furious mothers after she mocked them online by posting up class emails about birthday present collections.

The radio presenter was picking up seven-year-old daughter Ava from her private school in north London this afternoon when a fellow parent, whose daughter was the subject of the email, called across the playground: “Why did you do it, Myleene? Why?”

Myleene shouted back: “If you’ve got a problem with it, talk to me in private.”

Other furious parents have written and emailed the headteacher of the £5,000-a-term school accusing the star of using the personal emails of fellow parents to get press attention.

“It was a very distasteful and cheap shot,” wrote one.

The celebrity had uploaded the round-robin class emails onto her Twitter account with the caption “Bonkers” “schoolgates”.

The email, from a fellow Year Three parent to the whole class, requests £10 donations for birthday presents for two girls to go towards buying a Kindle e-reader for one and a desk for another.

It reads: “Ladies, Jane and Hanna would prefer a class birthday gift for their daughters this year. Sarah would like a kindle and Lola a desk, (very studious choices) so if you would like to join in please can I collect a suggested £10 from you before the party. If you would prefer to send via an envelope in your daughters school bag, that works too.”

Myleene then posted a screenshot of the sarcastic reply she sent back.

She wrote: “Dear all, for Ava’s birthday, she has requested a real, live unicorn. I will be collecting Unicorn money via her book bag, in the playground or at getwhatyourgivenandendthismadness.com (Additionally I’d like a Ferrari and Leonardo DiCaprio, so by all means, do feel obligated to contribute this too..)”

Her tweet went viral being shared hundreds of times and also posted onto national news websites attracting thousands of views.

One furious mother, who asked not to be named, said: “She has betrayed our confidences and belittled us so publicly. Lots of people have complained.”

Another said: “She has really pissed everyone off. It is so out of order. She isn’t going to have any friends left and we are the ones she relies on to pick up her daughter for her when she is late.”

In an email to other parents in the class, one angry mother wrote: “Next time she parks on the double yellow lines opposite school, I shall really try hard not to take pictures and sell it to the press!”

Another parent defended the class communal gift arrangement saying: “It is to make it easier for parents so they don’t buy expensive presents that nobody wants.

“There is no obligation. Myleene has misunderstood the school’s community spirit.”

Many are baffled at why the star would tweet the emails over a year after they were sent.

One said: “It is bang out of order. These are old class emails from a year ago. We have all noticed that the paparazzi are no longer outside the school taking her picture like they used to be every morning.

“Perhaps she needed to get some attention. The press have certainly all been back here today.”

The school was unavailable for comment.
