A nursery was branded a failure for putting children’s safety at risk by Ofsted.
Konstam Children’s Centre in Chester Road, Highgate, was given the lowest possible rating by Ofsted inspectors last week, six years after it was judged to be ‘outstanding’.
The centre, which operates a nursery as well as a playscheme for children up to the age of eight, was heavily criticised for not securing all its entrances, meaning that anyone can walk through the door. It was also found to be in breach of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
A council spokesman said: “We took immediate action to remedy the situation to ensure the safety of all children at the centre.”
