NOW that we have the much-needed 20mph zones, may we please rid ourselves of speed humps? They are an environmental disaster, as well as being a great difficulty for the emergency services, especially ambulances.
The maximum exhaust emission from a vehicle is in the acceleration phase, and each hump is another acceleration phase. If you have 10 humps, you have 10 times the exhaust emission - a disaster in dense cities like London. May local councils please think about this?
