The success of the campaign led by Joanna Lumley and the Liberal Democrats to give justice and settlement rights to Gurkha veterans is certain to have implications for Camden, which already has an important Nepali community.
I am sure that no-one in this borough, with its wonderfully diverse population, will for a moment begrudge the opportunity to settle here for servicemen who have given so many years of gallant and distinguished service to this country.
As Nick Clegg said in Parliament, people who have proved they are willing to die for this country should surely be entitled to live in it.
If Gurkha veterans do decide to settle in the borough Camden will truly have become "the home of the brave".
