A vacant commercial backland site will be demolished to make for new family homes after Westminster Council granted planning permission for the development last week.

The former Amberly Coach Works at 32a Goldney Road, Maida Vale, will be transformed into eight three-bedroom houses, set over two and three storeys.

Due to the size of the project, the developer is required by the council to make a contribution of 232,200 to affordable housing in Westminster.

The homes will be built as two rows of four houses facing each other across a communal parking and landscaped area.
