A new council housing block in St Pancras has been named after a late Camden councillor.

The 14 homes were dedicated to the late Peter Brayshaw, who died in 2014. He had three terms as a councillor, representing St Pancras and Somers Town councillor between 2010 and 2014, and Bloomsbury in the 1990s and again in the mid 2000s. He died in 2014.

Members of Peter’s family were present at the block on Saturday, as the homes were named in his memory.

Peter’s cousin Sue Smith said: “Social housing was very important to Peter. He came from humble beginnings and his parents lived in social housing. He believed affordable housing should be available to those who need it. We are sure Peter would be both proud and delighted with the new social housing in St Pancras.”

The block is part of Camden’s Community Investment Programme (CIP). In the last seven years, the council has built 721 homes out of a planned 1,100.
