ALEXANDRA Park students saw a marked improvement on last year's A level results, with almost 10 percent more grades falling within the A* to C bracket.

A fantastic 6.4 percent of grades hit the new A* grade and almost 20 percent of grades were either an A or an A*, compared to 15 percent last year.

While 100 per cent of exams taken were passed, some students managed to stand out.

Dottie Greenwood, who had to take a year off school to battle cancer managed to gain an A* and two As.

Maya Dalby achieved three of the new A* grades and Emma Tribe clutched two of the grade as well as an A to take a place studying History at Cambridge.
