AN Austrian actor who lives in Muswell Hill has won an acclaimed award for his role in the latest Quentin Tarantino flick.
Christoph Waltz won the best actor award at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday (May 25), for his role as Colonel Hans Landa in Taratino's new World War Two movie, Inglourious Basterds.
Mr Waltz, 52, joins Hollywood highflyers, Brad Pitt, Mike Myers and Samuel L Jackson, but early critics have claimed that Mr Waltz steals the show as the villainous SS officer.
Set in Nazi-occupied France during World War Two, the film, due out on August 21, follows a group of Jewish-American soldiers whose mission is to kill as many Nazi's as possible.
