Children bounced, spun and flew through the air on a bungee trampoline and transformed into butterflies at Channing Junior School’s summer fete.

The sunny weather brought hundreds of pupils and parents to the annual fair at the all-girls school’s grounds in Highgate High Street on Saturday (June 7).

Children were given a free ticket to try out the small-scale version of bungee jumping. Youngsters also had their faces painted and played a number of traditional fair games, including a tombola.

Helen Tranter, director of development at Channing School, said: “By the time the gates were open, it was really hot and we had hundreds of girls and parents turn up.

“It was a big success.”

The fete was organised by the Channing Association, a group of mums and dads who put on social events at the school.
