Like London buses, political scandals tend to come along in pairs and after the shock of hearing that a Camden councillor was intending to represent his constituents from the far side of the United States, where he is attending university, I thought I was on to another when I heard that Mike Katz had landed a whopper of a job at the University of California.
As it turned out, however, this wasn't the Mike Katz, of Hampstead & Kilburn Labour Party but an American economics expert of the same name. Yet another fellow by the name of Mike Katz was a former Mr America and Mr Universe, so presumably there's no connection there, either - though according to the girls in our office, a few of our councillors could benefit from pumping some iron in their spare time.
