Acclaimed children’s writer Michael Rosen is the newest poet-in-residence at historic Keats House, it has been announced.

The former Children’s Laureate will spend the next year writing poetry inspired by the Hampstead museum dedicated to Romantic poet John Keats in Keats Grove.

The author of classic children’s novels, including We’re Going On a Bear Hunt, follows in the footsteps of former poets-in-residence Daljit Nagra, Jo Shapcott and Benjamin Zephaniah. Mr Rosen said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be a writer-in-residence at Keats House, a place I’ve known for a good few years.”

He will take part in the finale of the Keats Festival, which will begin on May 28, alongside Mr Nagra, Ms Shapcott and poet John Hegley.
