News of the honour in the 2013 Michelin Guide was leaked online accidentally by the guide last Thursday morning – on his 29th birthday.
Mr Sethi opened the restaurant with brother Jyotin in 2011 and his sister Sunaina is general manager and sommelier. He became head chef of the restaurant, which specialises in the cuisine of south-west India, last February.
He said: “I am surprised and honoured to be among such great company.”
