Man who drowned in Regent’s Canal is named

A man who died in Regent’s Canal last month has been named as 30-year-old Panayiotis Petrou.
Mr Petrou, from Hertfordshire, died from drowning after falling into the water near Camley Street at around 8pm on April 24. Police tried to drag the 30-year-old out but his body was recovered at around 10pm.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned at St Pancras Coroner’s Court.
