A MAN walked into Golders Green Police Station yesterday evening and doused himself in petrol before threatening to set himself alight.
He entered the station in Finchley Road shortly before 10pm and is alleged to have produced a canister and a lighter before pouring the fluid over himself.
A single police officer bravely prevented the man from carrying out his threat by using CS spray to overpower him.
A 38-year-old man from the Golders Green area was later arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life and is currently being held at Colindale Police Station.
