AN AIR ambulance rushed to the rescue of a man who miraculously survived after falling some 40 feet from a tree on Hampstead Heath on Sunday.
The man was taken to the Royal Free Hospital because it was feared he might have spinal injuries, but incredibly he was found to have suffered only bruising and was discharged.
A City of London Corporation spokeswoman said: "The injured party fell 40 feet to the ground when the branch he was climbing on gave way. This incident emphasises the fact that climbing tall trees when branches are dry and heavy because of foliage can be extremely dangerous.
