A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with head injuries after a collision with a car in Hampstead on Friday (January 6).
Heath Street was brought to a stand still after the man was hit by a car at 3.10pm.
An ambulance arrived on scene minutes later and took the man to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead for treatment.
Ashley Webb, of Toni & Guy in Heath Street, said: “He got hit and it looked like he had just walked out into the road.
“Everyone was freaked out and he looked in quite a bad way – his head was all covered in blood and he couldn’t get up.”
The road was closed both ways while emergency services attended.
A worker from Pure Fruit in Heath Street, who did not wish to be named, said: “We heard a loud bang and a thump and there he was lying in the road. He had quite a bit of blood coming from his head.
“He had to be put on a stretcher and they fitted him with a neck brace.”
A police spokeswoman said a man was questioned at the scene but no one was arrested.
