A MAN has denied shooting a youth worker in an incident outside a Kentish Town Community Centre in January.
Luis Vicente, 23, appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court on Monday morning accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding the 27-year-old youth worker from Queen's Crescent Community Centre.
Mr Vicente, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared via video link from Pentonville Prison, where he is being kept on remand.
He also denied being in possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with the same incident outside the community centre on January 18.
The youth worker was left with a bullet in his leg which had to be removed by surgery and a 16-year-old was also lucky to survive when a bullet ricocheted off a wall and skimmed his face.
Mr Vicente of Acton Street, Bloomsbury will now stand trial on the two charges at Blackfriars Crown Court on July 12.
