FINCHLEY Road tube station was closed this morning after a 60-year-old man was killed on the tracks.
The victim, who has not yet been named, was hit by a southbound Metropolitan line train at 10am. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Police and paramedics rushed to the station to deal with the incident, while shocked commuters on the tube were ushered above ground. Electrical currents were switched off before ambulance staff could attend the victim.
The Metropolitan line was suspended between Wembley Park and Aldgate while the incident was dealt with before being handed back to London Underground an hour later.
