British Transport Police (BTP) and paramedics were called to reports of a 58-year-old man under a northbound Jubilee line train at 10.27am on Friday.
A BTP spokeman said the man went under the train but sustained “no physical injuries”.
He was found alive and taken as a priority to St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, for assessment where he was detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
The Jubilee line was suspended between West Hampstead station and Waterloo station from 10.28am to 11.10am following the incident.
