REVELLERS looked on in horror as a Maida Vale man was shot dead during a birthday party in north-west London.

Witnesses are being urged to come forward after the shooting in Stonebridge in the early hours of Sunday.

Shawn Callum, 26, who lived near the junction of Chippenham Road and Harrow Road, was found wounded outside Stonebridge School in Shakespeare Avenue at around 2.30am on Sunday.

He died later at Central Middlesex Hospital from a gunshot wound.

Police believe Mr Callum attended the private I Feel Good party at the school, attended by up to 200 people.

It is thought Mr Callum was shot as he left the school.

A police spokesman said: "At this stage it is believed Shawn had attended a private birthday party at Stonebridge Primary School on Saturday night.

"We understand that tickets were being sold for the party but it is not yet known if Shawn was invited or purchased a ticket."

The killing is being investigated by officers from Operation Trident, which deals with gun crime within London's black community. So far, no arrests have been made.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call the incident room on 020-8733 3470 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
