Lucky the kitten escapes death on busy Swiss Cottage road
A terrified kitten was plucked to safety on a busy road in Swiss Cottage after a narrow escape from being crushed by traffic.
Motorists watched in horror as two cars drove over the eight-week-old kitten in Finchley Road, but it somehow managing to avoid being hit by the speeding traffic.
The black and white kitten was plucked from the road by a passer-by and handed into the RSPCA on May 20.
The kitten, named Lucky by rescuers because of her near escape, is now looking for a new home.
Jenny Eden, of the RSPCA, said: “We don’t know if she was thrown out of a car or had just wandered onto the busy carriageway. She is incredibly lucky to be alive.”
