As well as Liberal Democrat councillor Monroe Palmer a string of top names from across the Ham&High area have been made peers today.
The list of party nominations was revealed this morning and showed a whole host of north Londoners would be taking seats in the House of Lords.
Broadcaster Michael Grade who grew up in Hampstead has been appointed by the Conservative party while Oona King who went to Haverstock school was chosen by the Labour Party.
Primrose Hill’s Dame Joan Bakewell was also appointed by Labour.
