Hampstead could become its own constituency again for the first time since 1979 under proposed new electoral boundary proposals.

The boundary review, ordered in 2013 sees Tulip Siddiq’s seat of Hampstead and Kilburn split, to become their own separate constituencies.

The new Hampstead seat will take part of Mike Freer’s Golders Green and Finchley seat, which will be abolished, and Sir Keir Starmer’s Holborn and St Pancras constituency,

The rest of Freer’s seat will be absorbed into Hendon.

Kilburn will include part of Brent Central, as well as Westminster North, which will also be abolished.

The St. John’s Wood area of Westminster North will become part of a new Cities of London and Westminster seat.

Hornsey and Wood Green will keep its current boundaries.

To become law, the changes would have to be passed in the House of Commons, amid Labour and Liberal Democrat objections.
