A Golders Green resident hosted shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper at her home to discuss setting up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme with neighbours.
Janet Solomons, of Corringham Road, opened her living room to Ms Cooper and Sarah Sackman, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Finchley and Golders Green, on Wednesday last week.
Ms Solomons and neighbours had raised concerns with Ms Sackman about a spike in burglaries in the area and put their concerns to Ms Cooper, who endorsed plans to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Corringham Road.
Concerns were also raised during the meeting about the reduction in police officers and the closure of stations, such as the one in Golders Green.
