Glenda Jackson has pulled off a shock victory in Hampstead and Kilburn – with a majority of just 42. Ms Jackson, who has been MP of former constituency Hampstead and Highgate since 1992, fought back tears as the result was declared. A recount was called a
Glenda Jackson has pulled off a shock victory in Hampstead and Kilburn - with a majority of just 42.
Ms Jackson, who has been MP of former constituency Hampstead and Highgate since 1992, fought back tears as the result was declared.
A recount was called at 7am by Conservative candidate Chris Philp, who was Ms Jackson's nearest rival.
The final result was eventually called at 8.15am.
