Dawn Barnes will be looking to upset the odds as she has been reselected as Lib Dem candidate for the Hornsey and Wood Green seat.
In 2017, she trailed Catherine West by 30,000 votes, despite Ms West only having won the seat two years earlier.
However the 15 per cent swing hasn’t put the Crouch End councillor off standing again, and she will challenge Ms West at the next election.
After being reselected on November 14, she said: “I am delighted to have been reselected to fight for the area where I live. We are building up a real Liberal Democrat alternative to Labour in Haringey.
“A strong Liberal Democrat voice is needed now more than ever. The Tories are in chaos over Brexit and Labour are egging it on rather than trying to stop it. People who believe in an open, tolerant and dynamic Britain deserve someone who speaks for them.”
