Parliamentary candidate Simon Marcus is taking lessons from one of the most ruthless political operatives on television screens.
The Conservative hopeful for Hampstead and Kilburn has invited supporters to join him for a cosy screening of smash-hit American political drama House of Cards on Saturday.
Cllr Marcus has urged Tory activists to canvass with him in Hampstead on Saturday before decamping to Hampstead and Kilburn Tory HQ, in Heath Hurst Road, for “appropriately themed snacks, drinks and the first four episodes” of the new series.
Guests are invited to bring cushions and pillows to get comfy in front of a political masterclass from the show’s Hollywood star Kevin Spacey, who plays fictional US president Frank Underwood, infamous for murdering several political rivals.
Borrowing a famous Underwood line, the event invitation concludes: “Remember ‘generosity is it’s [sic] own form of power’, so be generous with your time and come canvass for Simon Marcus.”
