An exhibition of artwork celebrated years of swimming at the Kenwood Ladies’ Pond.
Women have been braving the icy waters at the pond on Hampstead Heath through summer and winter since it was opened by George V in 1925.
The exhibition, in the Orangery at Kenwood House last weekend included paintings, artefacts, video and sculpture.
Swimmers were on hand to talk to visitors about their experiences of swimming in the pond and their life.
The Chair of the Kenwood Ladies’ Pond Association, Jane Shallice, said: “This year is one of change for the pond as works are done on the new dams.
“It is a good time for us to celebrate and reflect on the special qualities of the Ladies’ Pond and the way it brings us together as a community.”
Pictured are Sarah Saunders, Mary Powell, Agnieszka Kreciglowa, Jo Goldsworthy, Eve Featherstone and Molly Fletcher.
