Jester Festival set to entertain hundreds in its 46th year

The organiser behind the one of West Hampstead and Fortune Green’s hallmark events is urging residents to turn out in their numbers this weekend.
The Jester Festival has been a regular fixture on the calender for the last 46 years, and the main organiser Cllr Flick Rea has been on hand since the first one.
“It gets better every year,” she says. “People come from across London, including one woman who comes from Birmingham, and brings her grand children because she used to come as a child.”
While there is no longer a jester on hand, the festival will have live music, a climbing wall, food and drink stalls, as well bric-a-brac being on sale.
It will take place on Fortune Green on Saturday and Sunday between midday and 6pm.
Cllr Rea said: ““It’s a slight variation on a village fete. It’s local people coming together, and you don’t get it as often any more in London.
“It’s a fun day out for everybody.”
