An inquest has been opened into the death of a highly-respected graffiti artist who suffered severe head injuries in 2011.

King Robbo, whose real name is John Robertson, died aged 45 on July 31 having been in a vegetative state for three years.

The father-of-three, who famously had a year-long feud in Camden with iconic stencil artist Banksy, was found unconscious in the street outside his King’s Cross flat in April 2011.

The causes of his injuries remain unknown but police concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.

An inquest into his death was opened at St Pancras Coroners’ Court on Friday and adjourned until December 3.
