When attending the public meeting about the suggested closure of Whittington A&E, I was impressed by the passionate contributions from the floor. Sadly, I remembered similar passions regarding the bureaucratisation of NHS administration, when I entered nursing almost 50 years ago.
Then, even the hospital's adminitrators did not agree with taking over prioritising decisions from clinicians. However, the political imperitives were increasingly money driven, rather than people driven.To reverse this process in Archway will need an awful lot of passion. I'll be there on February 27.
