I wish to fanfare Stephen Taylor's excellent article and to congratulate the Ham&High for putting such an important issue at the heart of its editorial (H&H Comment, February 11).
The insidious erosion of civil liberties must be halted, and this needs rigourous public debate to ensure the forces of government don't slip such erosions under the radar. Otherwise, we won't know what we've lost until it's gone.
