Thanks to the Ham&High for the publicity given to the sinister multi-layered identity management system constructed by this government. Once more it has shown up the national press who have failed, with one or two notable exceptions, to take these issues on to their front pages .
As Stephen Taylor points out, commitment by the other two major political parties to scrapping ID cards is merely a sop. Nothing short of repeal of the legislation will suffice, so make your voice heard and scrutinise the various manifestos!
The legislation is wholly incompatible with citizens' rights in a free democracy.
